Police Central - Modular Image Database Software for Law EnforcementThe Police Central Evidence Processor integrates image acquisition of digital crime scene photographs into the Police Central system. This module will automatically transfer images from any PC Card (PCMCIA) based digital camera for permanent, secure storage on your Police Central workstation.

Prior to the introduction of Police Central Evidence Processor, images had to be manually transferred from a digital camera’s PC Card with the camera manufacturer’s download utility. This procedure made mistakes possible and provided no audit trail to prove the images to be unaltered – a crucial proof for certifying crime scene evidence in court.

With the Evidence Processor, the entire process is automated and documented for trial admissibility. The user simply inserts the PC Card containing crime scene evidence into any standard Windows PC. The photographs on the PC Card can then be reviewed (but not altered) and then moved to long-term storage. Each image file is tagged with relevant information including the officer’s name and badge number, the current date, time, and case number. A mandatory printed audit trail report is generated at the end of each session, providing certification that the images are original and unaltered.

If your jurisdiction is currently using or considering digital cameras for crime scene photography, the Police Central Evidence Processor is a "must have" component of your software library. Without it, your inability to prove in court that your evidence has not been altered could be the legal loophole that scuttles your next investigation. Contact Police Central today for details on the Evidence Processor and consultation on digital photography admissibility issues.
